Privacy Policy

ShelfShares is a calm reading app by Neon Future. This policy describes what the app stores, how sync and sharing work, and how to contact us. ShelfShares is not an advertising product.

Who we are

ShelfShares helps you track the books you finish and share shelves with friends, family, and book clubs — without turning reading into a social feed. It is published by Neon Future for Apple devices. There is no separate ShelfShares login or advertising profile.

What ShelfShares stores

Your books, reading status, goals, and shelf lists live in the app on your devices. Sync uses your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit when you are signed in. ShelfShares does not operate a ShelfShares-hosted cloud of reading data apart from Apple’s iCloud path you already use.

Shared shelves

When you invite someone to a shared shelf, Apple’s CloudKit sharing delivers that shelf’s book list to participants you choose. Your private “My Shelf” statuses and dates stay on your devices; a shared shelf does not publish who finished what to a public feed.

Book search

Looking up covers and metadata may contact third-party book providers (for example Open Library). Those queries go to the providers so results can load — not into a ShelfShares analytics or advertising pipeline.

What we do not collect

ShelfShares does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell personal information, and does not build an advertising profile from your reading history. This marketing site does not run product analytics trackers that identify ShelfShares users. System permissions (for example iCloud) are handled by Apple.

Leaving ShelfShares

Deleting ShelfShares or turning off iCloud for the app follows Apple’s usual device and iCloud rules for app data and CloudKit containers, including shared shelves you manage.

Children

ShelfShares is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as ShelfShares ships. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do.
